The academic incubator is established to facilitate the commercial utilization of technical knowledge and intellectual property rights. Health Sciences Innovation Incubator at Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences has received the necessary approval for its establishment and operation. This decision was made during a meeting on July 22, 2023, by the Technical Committee of Health Technology Incubators under the Research and Technology Vice-Chancellor of the Iran Health Ministry. It has been approved to develop the health technologies and the knowledge-based economy, creating a platform for the commercialization of technological and research achievements. This move is aimed at advancing towards a third-generation university and improving the technological status of both the university and the country.

Meanwhile, according to the official decree of the Dean, Dr. Akbar Eslami has been appointed as the head of the Health Sciences Incubator.

Considering the importance of transitioning to a third-generation university and aligning research activities towards technology and innovation, it is essential to leverage the high capacity and potential of health, safety, and environmental sciences. This includes fostering collaboration with industry and society, producing technological products through thesis research projects, and establishing technology centers and units focused on health sciences.

Therefore, there is a need to establish an incubator in this field. In addition, the lack of a thriving hub for growth in the fields of health, safety, and environmental sciences in the region further confirms this issue. Transforming ideas into technological and knowledge-based products and services, including consulting, laboratory, and educational services. Our aim is to respond to the needs of society and beneficiaries, based on the principles of focusing on society and people-centeredness, innovation, participation at transnational levels, and a commitment to justice and excellence. The healthcare system is one of the main strategies of this center. In fact, the provision of technological services plays a central role in the advancement of health sciences in the field of healthcare and prevention.
